First Ammonia is developing what it expects to be the world’s first modular, commercial-scale plants to produce green ammonia from existing intermittent renewable energy.

First Ammonia’s plants will be the first to use Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (“SOEC”) technology from Topsoe of Denmark for the production of green ammonia from electrolysis. SOEC is the most efficient commercially available electrolysis technology, offering approximately 30% greater hydrogen output compared to Proton Exchange Membrane (“PEM”) and alkaline electrolysis and does not rely on rare materials
